Commercial Roof Repair Contractor Assists With Tornado Damage in Grapevine, TX After December 13, 2022 Destruction
Commercial Roofing & Restoration

Morning commuters were shocked when a tandem of tornadoes ripped through a Grapevine, Texas, business district Tuesday, Dec. 13th, leaving business owners in need of emergency roof repair services. The suddenness of the incident prevented residents from taking defensive measures, and buildings outside the twister’s path require a careful commercial roof inspection.
RestoreMasters has emergency roofing crews and inspection professionals in the area and were on the scene within minutes after twisters passed through. Commercial property owners in Grapevine are encouraged to call the roof repair office in Dallas, TX, or request help through the company website.
At the decades-old Waffle Way restaurant on W. Northwest Hwy in Grapevine, a customer spotted one of the ferocious twisters and alerted diners to get to safety.
“He started yelling, ‘Take cover! Take cover! Take cover!’ It was unreal... like an out-of-body experience,” Waffle Way part-owner Natasha Thomp reportedly told ABC 8 news. “You don’t really know what’s going on. You don’t know what’s happening.”
Customers were able to shelter in the rear of the eatery as the building suffer wind roof damage, a mangled awning, and blown-out windows. Thanks to the quick thinking of one alert patron, no one was injured. But the entire surrounding business district will require commercial roof repair and restoration.
It’s essential for property owners that did not necessarily sustain a direct hit to request a complimentary roof inspection. When tornados trek through an area, their vacuum force pulls on everything. It’s not uncommon for buildings to suffer roof wind damage that doesn’t leak for months after the severe weather incident. Taking advantage of prompt commercial roof inspection services gives owners a clear, concise report that supports an insurance claim.
A local map of the tornadoes in Grapevine shows a dark line where the cyclones cut a path of destruction. It indicates the twisters tore a swath from west of Dragon Stadium, across the row of big box outlets, restaurants, offices, and all the way to Cowboys Golf Course.

A tornado was videotaped crossing Highway 114 near Baylor Scott and White Medical Center. Numerous buildings sustained damage to roofs and siding. A car wash was destroyed on Dove Road, utility poles were downed, and Grapevine Mills Mall was forced to close due to exterior wall and roof wind damage. Grapevine Middle School was reportedly evacuated in time before taking heavy roof damage.

- North Richland Hills: Commercial buildings suffered extensive roof damage.
- Westworth: A twister touched down at an aircraft hangar, causing wall and roof wind damage. The cyclone trekked northeast through Tarrant County, according to social media reports.
Although the tornado damage to Grapevine is extensive, RestoreMasters has inspectors and emergency roof repair field crews on site. Our roofing contractors fixed widespread tornado roof damage after a tornado slashed through Northeast Texas on November 4, 2022.
Some roofing systems can be severely harmed by damage from heavy winds, tornadoes, or hail. Some older roofs can be damaged by winds as low as 50 miles per hour. Roof damage can be severe or mild, depending on various factors which include: materials used on the roof, impact of debris, building height and proximity to other buildings, age, angle and shape of the roof and type of roofing.
