Hey guys. Thanks for watching this video. My name’s Olivia, I’m here again with RestoreMasters and this evening I’m going to be showing you what it looks like to build over 50,000 square feet of metal at night. Follow me, let’s go check it out.

So we’re up here on the roof now, as you can see behind me, we have our crew working diligently. Now we have you each one of them harnessed and we have over a dozen shop lights, so that we have a safe working environment for our crew. Now this particular business produces parts for oil and gas equipment. So obviously installing a roof during hours of operation for such an intricate business is going to be highly interruptive to their day to day schedule. So what we did was we set up our working schedule opposite to their typical shift. So now that we’re able to operate at night, we have a crew of over 20 people that are working throughout the night to complete this project. Now, what would normally take 14 to 16 hours working during the day, they are able to complete in less than eight hours.

So the reason that we did this is because when you’re installing a roof over a business, it can be not only disruptive to the employee’s work, but it can also be hazardous. We have debris falling, we have panels coming off the roof. So it makes a lot more sense to do it during the night. So we came up with the perfect solution.

So the reason that we’re at this job here, particularly now, it’s because of a hailstorm that occurred over a year ago. Now, we originally were called out to do an inspection on a property over five buildings down. Now, while we were out here we reached out to the general manager to see about doing an inspection for damage on their building as well. So upon completing a liability free drone inspection to both buildings on the property, we did find that there was in fact hail damage to both buildings. So when hail impacts a metal roofing system like this one, the hail stones cause what’s called a microfracture in the surface, that’s on the metal. Now, when rain and water gets to that fracture it causes rust to begin to formulate. Now, this rust to the roofing system ultimately compromises the roofing system and shortens the lifespan of the roof.

So as you can hear working in this kind of environment with this much noise going on is not ideal for any business. So here we are inside the warehouse. Now, this particular building was built in the late ’90s, so it was over 20 years old when the hailstorm actually occurred. Now, after we did the damage assessment, it was disclosed to us that there were already some minor leaks and issues with the roof. So the hailstorm was actually a blessing disguise for this business owner.

So here’s the full recap of this job. A hailstorm occurred, we reached out to the owner to do a full damage assessment on the roof. Now, here we are this evening getting a roof completed at night so is not to interrupt their business and create a win-win solution. So that’s why if you, you own a commercial property or operate a business in a commercial building, it is highly advantageous to have your building checked out for storm damage.
