Stone-coated Steel Tile Roof & Windows After Hurricane
WATCH PROJECT VIDEO
Project Overview
Summary provided by video transcript.
Hey guys, John McDonald here with RestoreMasters. I’m in Marianna, Florida. I’m standing in front of the first Presbyterian church right here in Marianna, Florida, as I stated, this is one of 25 historic locations.
And so here at RestoreMasters as you know, we’ve done a lot of work for a lot of churches. We enjoy working with churches and helping them to restore their properties after a catastrophic storm has damaged their property. And so again, this particular church has been here since 1835 and it’s a historical church. And so it’s always fun doing those kind of projects.
So here at this location, hurricane Michael, we are an hour north from the beach, probably further than that. The damage here was catastrophic. You can see trees down everywhere still. And in this property, we have taken off the old roof and we’ve come back with a stone coated steel product. And so you have a stone coated steel product, you also have a flat roof, all new gutters and windows. We did water removal right after the storm and then a complete build back of the interior as well.
And so we’ll show you some drone footage of the roof. It looks great. And we’re happy to have this project come to a conclusion. So again, first Baptist church, Marianna, Florida. This is John McDonald with RestoreMasters. If we can help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Thank you.
PROJECT UPDATE
Hey guys again, John McDonald here with RestoreMasters. As we stated in our last video, we are at the First Presbyterian Church of Mariana, Florida. As you can imagine, Hurricane Michael came through, catastrophic damage to this property, to the roof, to the windows, to the gutters, a lot of interior damage as well. So we did all new roofing system, water removal in a complete build back of the interior. So now we’re going to talk about the windows.
If you would follow me up here, I’m going to show you two things. This is a wood monolithic glass window. And we can see signs, not getting too technical or too much detail in this window. Two signs of window damage. The first is deflection. What happens with deflection if you can see that, that window’s not supposed to do that. Wind speeds that go beyond the manufacturer specs of this window, what it’s designed for and through the buffeting of that window has caused the cracks basically to the system that holds that window in. And so it’s damaged.
You can also see inside water intrusion and that’s happened again because the wind speed was greater than what this window’s designed for. So that hurricane has given us a perfect timestamp as well. You can see the intrusion on the inside of that window. Insurance is going to say it’s been there for years and years, previous damage, don’t think so. That’ll prove it right there.
If you live in the path of Hurricane Michael, it’s easy to see roof damage. It’s easy to see interior damage to your property, but sometimes window damage isn’t so easily seen after a catastrophic storm.
We are window experts. If you live in the city of Marianna, give us a call. We’d like to come out and just assess any possible damage to your windows on your property just to make sure that they are still functional, and that there’s not been any damage due to Hurricane Michael. Give us a call. We’d like to come out and at least just assess your windows. Give us a call today. Appreciate your time. Thank you.
