Project Overview

Summary provided by video transcript.

This is Donna Reichl with RestoreMasters. We’re here at the Lighthouse Tabernacle. We were the first on the scene, right after a Cat 4 Hurricane came through this whole area and devastated all of the properties around here. So we lost the sign, we lost part of the roof, there’s water on the interior that we’re drying out. So let’s go take a look at this project.

Okay, so behind me, you can see that we have our dehumidifiers and our desiccants going there, removing as much moisture as possible and blowing air in, to dry everything out in all three of these buildings. So we can save as much of the interior as possible.

PASTOR UPTON
Our church was founded in October of 1954. We’ve had a lot of storms. Two previous that were of record was Katrina, then Hurricane Rita, but not as hard as what Laura was. And RestoreMasters were some of the first guys to make contact with us again.

So right here, you can see that we’ve got part of the entrance torn out. We’ve got our dehumidifiers, bringing in air and blowing air all through this facility. So that we can get it dried out as quickly as possible. You can see that Hurricane Laura took out part of the wall here and caused columns to separate from the wall. We’ve moisture mapped the whole property. And unfortunately, quite a bit of moisture did get into the drywall. So we’ve got our engineers out here letting us know how much that needs to be ripped out, and replaced, and put back brand new. And the adjusters were here today and they’re approving everything, so we can get started as quickly as possible.

All right. So here we are in the kitchen of this building and you can see that the power is still out. So it’s dark in here. But what happened in here is that one of the vents was completely blown off the roof and water just poured in here. It was underwater, flooded in here and we’ve had the extraction units going, drying everything out. Now we’re going to use this boom lift to get up here on top of the roof. And we’re going to see all these scratches and indentations that was done by Hurricane Laura.

As we make our way to the back of this roof, to check out that vent that Hurricane Laura blew off, and allowed water to soak the kitchen that we saw earlier. Let’s talk about the roof that will soon be going back with.

We’re going to install a 26 gauge R panel metal roofing system. Underneath we’re going to put in a four inch vinyl backed insulation. It’s going to keep this building cooler and cut down on its energy costs. It’s going to have a 40 year Kynar coating on the finish. Now all around the sides, we’re going to go with a 10 inch custom bent guttering system. The roofing portion of this job will only take us about three weeks from start to finish.

All right, guys. So what you need to know in the event of a natural disaster like this, is that time is of the essence. Please don’t wait, give us a call immediately so we can get our crews over here as soon as possible, to get you dried in and get our water extraction units working on the inside of the building to remove as much moisture as possible, and prevent mold growth. Do not wait for your insurance adjuster to come out. That can take up to a week in a catastrophe like this. And that is not what you want. Let us get you a plate in of action and point you in the right direction. And thanks for watching.
