Today. We are here at Shasta Bible college because a large hail storm came through and damaged not only the offices, but as well as the campuses on site, let’s go take a look.

So right now we are at the job site staging area. But before we get to that, let me tell you how we got here. So this project here began around 13 months ago, the hail storm came through the college sat down, interviewed a few roofing companies here in town. They ultimately ended up deciding to choose RestoreMasters for their insurance project. One because of our large bonding capabilities and two, because the size of our insurance that we carry. So when we first got here, we did an inspection on the roofing system. We identified all the damages to the metal as well as the flat roof systems on the campuses. We then called insurance company, let them know that we found some damage, and we wanted them to come take a look. About three weeks later is how long it took them to respond, and they responded with, “hey, we’re going to meet you guys in two more weeks.”

When we came to meet them on site, they actually called us that day. Let us know they weren’t going to be able to make it for us to take some photos and send to them. So we took all of our photos, send it to them and then we didn’t get a response for over two months. The adjuster said he was sick, he wasn’t able to respond. And now mind you we’re emailing and calling every two to three days, we ultimately had to end up getting the pastor involved to call his agent so that we could get a response from the insurance carrier and their response, believe it or not. And they said, well, we’ve reviewed your photos. We see the dents in the metals, but in the policy we have a cosmetic waiver, meaning that those hail to the metal we don’t owe for that. That was their response.

On the top of this panel, you can see the shine that is the finish to the panel that gives it the warranty. When hail comes down and impacts your metal, it causes a microfracture in that finish. Now the microfracture allows water to get to the unfinished portions of the metal eventually causing rust, which leads to failure of your roof panel in the future. So we have a few documents and metallurgist to prove this to the insurance. So after a long battle, we were able to get this roof fully approved, as well as the flats. Today, we are up on top there doing the roof system, installing the new panels. Let’s go take a look.

So here behind me, you’ll see the guys installing the new 24 gauge standing seam metal roofing system. For the underlayment we chose to do a high temp ice and water shield. So not only were we able to get the new metal roof system after the insurance company denied us at the beginning, we were also able to compromise and agree on a new coating for the mod bit system down here. So we can extend the life of the flat roof section for another 10 years. When it comes to insurance claims and complicated roof systems and denials from the insurance, we’ve seen it all and we’ve heard it all. We know it’s frustrating and we get it.

So for each specific roof type and each specific situation we have over the years developed a special set of skills and people for that individual situation for metal roofing. For example, we have a metallurgist as well as a really good public adjuster that we can call and add to the team. So we’re going to place the correct people on the team so that we can gain approvals.
