Tile Roof Replacement

Hey guys. Kody Doerschel here with RestoreMasters. Today we’re at Villas of Bal Harbor in Punta Gorda, Florida, and we’re replacing their roof systems after some damaging winds from Hurricane Ian. Come check it out with me. After Hurricane Ian, most communities in southwest Florida were affected by some form of damage, whether that be wind, debris strikes from flying debris or flooding, there were decisions to be made.

The Homeowners Association of Villas Bal Harbor was no different. After we did our inspection and presented our findings to the board, they vetted our licenses and our references and ultimately decided that RestoreMasters would be the best fit for their community. After the claim was approved, the board had the opportunity to upgrade the roof systems for the community. They expressed wanting to have a low maintenance metal roof product while maintaining the same Mediterranean feeling that they had with their previous roof system.

Because of these factors, RestoreMasters recommended an aluminum permatile, which checked off all the boxes for the board and still gave them the same curb appeal that they had with their previous roof system. As you can see, half the roofs within this community have already been completed. But before we can begin construction, there are a handful of planning and preparation steps that we need to take. That includes things like measuring the roofs, setting up the staging area, and ordering the materials. Once the materials are on site, then at that point we can begin construction.

Now we can begin the construction phase of this project. This includes things like tearing off the old concrete tile roof system and checking for bad decking. Any bad decking that’s present, we replace. Then at that point, we can install our high temp synthetic underlayment system and we check for water entry points, leaks, and it makes sure that everything’s up to code. Once that’s all been done, then at that point we can install the aluminum permatile that you see.
