Water Mitigation & Restoration After Pipe Bursts

WATCH PROJECT VIDEO

Project Overview

Summary provided by video transcript.

Hey guys, my name is Adam, thanks for tuning in. Right now, we’re in the middle of San Antonio at the Wyndham hotel. It’s one of the largest sky rises in the area, and a couple of pipe burst on multiple floors. And as you may know, this is a very rare occasion for San Antonio, and these buildings are just not equipped to handle this kind of weather. So inside, they’ve got several levels all the way up. They have lots of bursts, and it’s leaking down in the floors underneath, and we’ve got our team inside extracting the water. Let’s go take a look.

All right guys, when we first arrived here at the Wyndham, there was water all over the floor, there was water shooting out of the ceiling. The Wyndham was actually worried that they were just going to have to close down their business. Since then, we’ve cleaned up all the water out of the lobby, and we’ve contained the major construction to one side so that the Wyndham can continue to run and check in and out guests. Let’s take a look behind the containment zone.

And now we’re in the lobby area, and the adjuster already came out and said, “tear up the carpet.” So that’s what we’re doing. They also talked to us about the wallpaper, so we’re pulling the wallpaper as well. As you can see, most of the carpet is already gone now, they’ve got it all bagged up. Then we’re getting the stuff out of here so that we can get our equipment in to start the dry out. Our guys use a moisture meter on these walls over here, and they’ve made marks to say which ones are going to come out so that we’re all on the same page. We have more damage in the kitchen, let’s go take a look. All right, guys, right now we’re in the kitchen. We’re in one of the many areas that was affected by the pipes bursting. As you can see, the ceiling has fallen out, but we’ve got the leak to stop for now. We’re going to bring in some equipment and dry it out. Let’s look over here.

Guys, this is another area that was affected by the pipes bursting. As you can see, the lights have fell and the ceiling is falling out right here in the center. Let’s go check out another spot.

Right now we’re in one of the many rooms that are affected by the pipes bursting. And as you can see, we’ve already started tearing up the carpet. So Wyndham has a very strict carpet policy, if we can’t match this up or this is discontinued, we’re going to have to replace the carpet going all the way up the hotel. One of the many reasons why we have to tear this carpet out is because of the padding underneath. It stays soaked for so long, and there’s no way to get this dry. So we have to remove the carpet in order to remove the padding.

Here we are in one of the many rooms affected by the pipes bursting. As you can see, they had to tear out the wall so they could get to the pipes that had busted on the back side of this. Once all this is cleared out, we’re going to get some equipment in here to dry out this area. So once we get the equipment inside and we’re able to dry this place out, we’re going to come back in and we’re going to do another moisture map, and we’re going to determine what else needs to be pulled out and what we can save.

All right. So once we finish up the water mitigation process, we’re going to begin to build back process. We’re going to go through and we’re going to get new carpet, we’re going to get new sheet rock, and we’re going to get new wallpaper for the entire hotel. We’re going to get this place back into conditions like this never even happened. All right. So if you guys experience anything like pipe bursts, water, fire, or if you guys are going through any kind of storm, please check us out on the web or give us a call. My name is Adam, thanks for watching.
