Roofing Contractor on the Scene After Hail, High Winds & Tornadoes Rip Through Louisiana on November 29, 2022
Commercial Roofing & Restoration
Hailstones pounded parts of Louisiana as high winds and tornadoes inflicted property roof damage in Madison and Caldwell on Tuesday, Nov. 29th. Building owners across Louisiana required emergency roof repair to shore up leaks and prevent water damage.
RestoreMasters has experts in the area to secure structures and provide commercial roof inspection services to expedite insurance claims. Commercial, industrial, agricultural, and institutional property owners can call the roof repair office in Baton Rouge, LA, for a prompt response.
“The National Weather Service Tuesday night reported structural damage from a ‘confirmed tornado’ in Caldwell Parish, and sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of significant damage. According to Caldwell Parish Sheriff Clay Bennett, two people were injured after several homes were damaged by a confirmed tornado,” KNOE 8 reported. “According to the NWS, they received reports of damage along Highway 126 six miles southeast of Clarks. The report followed another report of a radar-confirmed tornado striking just after 6 p.m. Tuesday 7 miles southeast of Columbia. The storm was moving at 45 miles an hour at the time of the warning.”
Property owners who sustained wind or roof hail damage are urged to request a complimentary roof inspection. Hailstone strikes generally leave dents and cracks that rust and evolve into leaks. Tornadoes generate a vacuum-like force that pulls on rubber and metal roofing systems. A commercial roof inspection documents the wind and hail property damage for insurance claims.
A local high wind, tornado and hail damage map shows pronounced hailstorms and tornado damage paths across Louisiana. The yellow areas near Zwolle, Natchitoches, and Winnfield indicate hail up to 1.25 inches made ground fall. The orange concentrations show ice up to 1.75 inches pounded rooftops and outbuildings. Black streaks on the map of the tornado in Louisiana confirm twisters cut paths of destruction.

RestoreMasters completely rebuilt the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Calcasieu Parish, LA, after Hurricane Laura made landfall. The restoration process involved shrink wrap roofing to protect against water damage, as well as a new metal roof, siding, gutters, and interior renovations.
Severe storms, bringing hail, strong winds, or tornadoes can cause severe roof damage, by ripping off roofing systems.
Older roofs are susceptible to severe wind damage, by winds as low as 50 mph.
Several factors will determine the severity of roof damage: the height of the building and proximity to nearby structures, the quality of work by the original installers, the shape and angle of the roof, the age and type of roofing materials, and the impact from debris.
After a severe storm of hail or high winds, it is important to get your roof inspected, and have a property damage assessment report so that you can learn whether you have damage to your roofing system.
If roof leaks do occur, an experienced disaster roofing contractor can stop leaks with tarping or shrink wrapping, where affected areas (or the entire roof) are covered with a durable shrink-wrapped plastic membrane till permanent repairs can take place. That way you can prevent mold growth from water intrusion.
Even if you don’t think your roof was damaged, you will want to get your roof inspected if your property falls anywhere within the hail damage map.
Some storm damage symptoms take time to appear.
And deadlines from insurance companies could hinder you from filing a claim later.
